Neil Thomas - Pump Music

Biography
Pump Music was set up by Neil Thomas in 2005 to write and record compositions, songs musical ideas and jingles. These are marketed globally to music publishers, recording studios, film and TV programme makers, advertisers/advertising agencies and artists.

He writes in all styles from classical to pop, rock, jazz rock and blues, as well as incorporating elements of world music.

Neil has been involved in music all his life starting with piano lessons at 6 years old. At 15 he was playing in blues bands and rock bands on the local circuit of pubs, clubs and dance halls. At 16 he played support to Dave Edmund’s “Love Sculpture” at a local venue in South Wales, and remained at the centre of a thriving local music scene for the next 12 years. He was involved in writing and playing with a number of bands, including Astral Theatre (concept band) and Pump (prog rock) which made some recordings in the late 1970’s.

He scaled down to focus on a business career and held a variety of positions in sales and commerce during the 1980s. During the 1990shis enthusiasm for music re-emerged. This took the form of not only playing again, but getting fully conversant with all aspects of modern studio based music production.

Neil also plays regularly with the 1950s Rock ‘n ‘Roll band The Sunsets who are soon to release an album of original material.
