Date Posted: 4th March 2008

The first in a series of careers events hosted by WMF got off to a great start at the Atrium, Cardiff's School of Creative and Cultural Industries and part of the University of Glamorgan on Tuesday 4 March.

Over 130 people attended including students from various universities and colleges in Cardiff, budding musicians and those wanting to work in the industry which was followed by the opportunity to network with one another.

Guest speakers Dan Hermouet (Tour Manager and Sound Engineer), John Hardy (Composer, John Hardy Music) and John Rostron (Manager, Promoter, Record Label Manager, Plug Two) all shared their success stories and offered tips and advice on how to make it in the industry. WMF were there to offer general advice and chair the session. The audience had the chance to talk to the speakers individually after the event over networking drinks in the Atrium.
This series comes as part as an initiative by WMF to support start-ups in the music industry in Wales and forge relationships between businesses and those set for a career in the industry.
