What is SXSW?
South by South West (SXSW) is the leading showcase and trade conference for music, interactive and independent film industries. It takes place in takes place in Austin, Texas, 12 - 21 March 2010. Please visit www.sxsw.com for more details.
Funding available:
Creative Business Wales will be offering export ready companies a grant towards attending. The funding package is available for 50% of the costs of flights and accommodation up to the value of £700 per company. This is redeemable upon return from SXSW, but copies of receipts must be provided. In addition, 50% of SXSW registration is also redeemable up to the value of £300. Again, a copy of the receipt will be needed. This funding is a grant and so does not include VAT. This support is limited and only export-ready music companies will be eligible.
Companies are responsible for booking their own travel, accommodation and delegate pass.
Wales at SXSW:
Welsh Music Foundation will hosting at Wales 'party' showcasing a selection of Welsh acts that have been invited to play by the SXSW panel. In addition to the programme of events for interactive companies and the array of opportunities for music delegates, WMF will also be part of the British trade stand at both the music and interactive conventions.
