It is important, especially in the current economic climate that we continue to recognise and reward innovators and inspirational Welsh citizens.   

Therefore the Institute of Welsh Affairs – Wales’ leading think tank, has launched the IWA Inspire Wales Awards to further raise the profile of the contribution that Welsh men and women are making to our society and to encourage active citizenship.

To recognise an outstanding contribution by an individual to the enhancement of Wales's reputation in the arts, media or creative industries. This category will embrace all art forms, including design and architecture, whether publicly funded or commercial or recognise an outstanding contribution by an individual to the enhancement of Wales's reputation through the medium of print, radio, television or online.

EDUCATOR

Closing date: Friday, 16 April 2010

To recognise an individual, teacher, lecturer or work-based trainer (eg employed in schools, colleges, universities, work-based training or community education) who has pioneered an initiative which has been hailed as an example of good practice in their locality, region or throughout Wales.

The Awards ceremony will be held in the presence of over 400 people, where the winners of the Awards will be announced.
