Work in Live Music in Wales? Please take this quick survey...
Date Posted: 31st August 2010

The UK live music market is worth an estimated £743million in ticket sales alone and despite the recession, record numbers of people are attending gigs (in most areas). In 2008, revenues from live music overtook those from record sales, with £1.39billion generated from live music -- up 16% on 2007. It is estimated that the projected growth in live entertainment will generate a need for an additional 30,000 backstage and technical staff in the theatre and live music sectors, and this research intends to ensure Wales takes full advantage of these opportunities.
This survey has been devised by Dr Paul Carr (The ATRiuM, University of Glamorgan) in conjunction with The Welsh Music Foundation. Your time will not be wasted, all responses will be taken seriously and play a significant part in helping to shape the future of the live music industry in Wales.
Results of the survey will be discussed in depth and be publically available in a written report.
All data collected in this survey will be held anonymously and securely. Any data that is of a personal nature will not be published.
Thanks for your time. If you have any questions by all means contact Dr Paul Carr at pcarr@glam.ac.uk
