Seminars & Events
There are hundres of companies in Wales working in the music business. It makes sense to us that Welsh Music Foundation plays an active part in bringing part in bringing these companies together at regular seminars and events, encouraging networking and knowledge-sharing between music-related businesses in Wales.
Our seminars are led by industry experts on a variety of music industry-related subjects including the role of collection societies, publishing and synchronisation, music law/contracts and working internationally. Networking events include the BBC 'Speed Dating' event which involves representatives from across the BBC and Welsh music businesses meeting up with the aim of trying to get more Welsh music represented on air.
One of the key objectives of Welsh Music Foundation is "to create a support system for the development of a commercially viable Welsh Music Industry", in other words helping disparate businesses become an industry. Anecdotal evidence suggests that these events allow individual enterprises to strengthen and profit from working together and, in some cases, for each other.
